YOUR CHALLENGE AT WIRE
Be ready to play an essential role by joining our engineering department in Berlin. You will work on our Android App, which is a key element of our secure collaboration platform, utilising the latest technologies and protocols for E2EE communication, like Messaging Layer Security (MLS).
You will be part of the Android team and will work closely with the QA, product, and other engineering teams regularly.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Contribute to our Android codebase written in Kotlin and take the ownership of certain code modules. Feel free to have a look at the Open Source codebase on Github: https://github.com/wireapp/wire-android, https://github.com/wireapp/kalium
- Collaborate with your teammates via regular meetings, code reviews, pair programming, and architectural discussions to define, design, and deliver new features.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application.
- Identify and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks.
- Work closely with QA to identify and close testing gaps.
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximise development efficiency.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices in Android development.
- Mentor and guide junior developers, providing technical expertise and support.
