YOUR CHALLENGE AT WIRE

Position Overview

The Pre-Sales / Solutions Engineer plays an important role in Wire’s Commercial Organization. You will support the sales process by providing in-depth technical expertise and guidance during customer engagements. Wire is developing some of the most advanced encrypted communications solutions that are available. Customers come to Wire to find secure and innovative solutions for protecting their most sensitive information. 

Therefore you will need to develop a deep understanding of Wire’s products and technologies so that you can help the Sales Team articulate the benefits of Wire’s product portfolio. You will overcome technical objections that may be presented as obstacles or challenges during the sales process. This means that the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas is crucial to winning new business opportunities and helping Wire grow.  

Wire offers both SaaS deployments for customers and on-premises deployments that include the entire server-client architecture. Wire‘s end-user applications span iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, and a web-application. The Presales Engineer will help prospective customers understand the benefits of these deployment options and thus strengthen the value proposition of Wire’s product portfolio and lead to success in acquiring new customers. 


Responsibilities

  • Solution Development: Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product and Customers to assess requirements and use cases for fit with Wire products and design tailored solutions for the public sector and critical national infrastructure markets.

  • Technical & Commercial Leadership: Lead complex technical discussions regarding Wire’s technology, security, features & functionality, and integrations - and turn this into business value and commercially driven outcomes for the prospect, partner or Wire. 

  • Technical Expertise: Deliver proof-of-values and demos that highlight the value of our solutions, whilst challenging requirements and setting clear success criteria. 

  • Commercial & Deployment Scoping: Support Sales, Customer Success, and Service Delivery in scoping deployment specifications, shared success plans, and key success criteria for a POV. 

  • Proof of Value: Work with Sales, Customer Success, and Service Delivery to manage POVs and drive these forward to successful outcomes for both the customer and Wire. 

  • Customer Advocacy: Build strong relationships with clients in the DACH, UK, and French markets, addressing their technical needs and challenges, whilst managing the solutions and technical sales track. 

  • MEDDPPIC Methodology: Leverage MEDDPPIC to qualify opportunities and align solutions with customer objectives.

  • Value-Based Selling: Map technical capabilities to business outcomes, developing ROI analyses and key business cases that shape success plans, and distinguish competitive advantages. 

  • Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to align customer feedback with our roadmap and ensure customer success stories are shared.

  • Escalation Management: Resolve customer technical challenges during the sales process promptly by coordinating with internal teams.

  • Market Knowledge: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor solutions, and product features.

  • Documentation: Assist with RFP/RFI responses and create technical documentation tailored to client needs.
YOUR PROFILE
  • Fluency in both German and English is essential; proficiency in French or any other language is a plus.

  • 3+ years experience in technical pre-sales as a Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer or post-sales (Customer Success) in a client-facing scenario, ideally in SaaS companies

  • Strong grasp of value-based selling principles.

  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-oriented solutions.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-first mindset.

  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment

  • Familiarity with secure communication technologies or SaaS platforms is a plus.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
